Bryan Akipa is, and has been, many things.  He is first, a tribal member of the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate.  Second, he is an award winning traditional Native American flute player.   Other important roles in his life were Army veteran and elementary school teacher.  Throughout all of these roles, he is a visual and performing artist. 

Nominated for several Native American Music Awards, Bryan Akipa has received many honors for his flute music.  A premier Native American flute player, he is internationally known for his craftsmanship of traditional flutes.  A champion traditional dancer, he also tours with the Lakota Sioux Dance Theatre. 

Bryan Akipa has produced several CDs of traditional Native American flute.
