A Sicangu Lakota, Butch Felix is a member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe.  He is a musician and singer, an announcer for powwows and rodeos.  He also acts as the master of ceremonies for a wide variety of public events.    

Music was a large part of home for Butch Felix and his family.  At a very young age he began singing with his parents and grandparents, going on to sing in school and in choirs.   His music today reflects those early years and songs.

Felix participated in the South Dakota All-State Chorus for three years.  His awards include 2nd place at the National Country Music Festival in 1977 and 1st place in the Battle of the Bands in 1997.
