Beading since 1984, Sherri Genia is mostly self-taught in the arts of beadwork and regalia making.Growing up in Sisseton, SD, she went away to boarding school and college.  In 1992 returning home, Sherri later took a quilling class at the Sisseton-Wahpeton College.  Sherri has received an Honorable Mention for her work at the 1998 Oscar Howe Art Contest

With the importance of family large in her life, Sherri makes each piece from the heart.  “I want people to feel happy, enjoy and use whatever article they have.  I put a lot of strength and feeling into everything I make.”
